I decided to style this dress by pairing it with a lace choker necklace. I love the lace trim on this slip dress and I wanted to incorporate that with the accessories for this outfit. I tried to keep the overall look simple, with bed-head messy curls and lace up heels. Incorporating nightwear into my regular wardrobe has been so much fun. I’ve been inspired to wear lace bodysuits under a pair of ripped jeans with high-heels or wearing a silky robe as a cardigan. The boudoir trend has been a huge hit over the red carpet and in tons of fashion magazines. It’s fun playing with different fabrics and silhouettes. My best tip is to have fun with it! Check out different bustiers and the necklines of different lingerie-inspired outfits. And if it’s all new to you, start by wearing a black thin, lace bra-lette over a white-tee. You can start off with this and gradually transition outside of your usual comfort zone.

I’ve noticed that the choker trend has been making a huge comeback and I love how this trend is not only seen with the necklaces but for tops and dresses as well. I fell in love with this bodycon dress from Tobi and I couldn’t resist getting it. It’s a form fitting bodycon with that features the choker neckline and a front bandeau design (they sell it in the colors black and mauve). I decided to pick the color mauve since the light lilac color is soft and feminine for such an edgy-styled dress. I wasn’t sure how the color would look on my skin tone but after trying it on, I love it! I wanted to keep the rest of my look simple so I paired this dress with neutral-toned accessories. There’s something about this dress that made me feel so effortlessly chic when I wore it out to around Dallas just to get some pastries at a local bakery. When shopping for dresses, I recommend looking for versatile pieces that can be worn both during the day and for a night out. This helps you utilize your closet and you can have a lot more fun when it comes to accessories!
