Holiday Pattern Mixing

I know it’s not even Christmas yet, but I still love dressing up for the holiday season! It really is the best time of the year; there’s so many festive colors and beautiful lights. I’ve always loved wearing black around winter time but adding red makes it feel a little merrier for Christmas. Since I’m already wearing a textured top and tights, I decided to balance out my look with a solid colored skirt and matte black heels. I love pairing sequins and lace together, it’s such a girly combination!

Holiday Glam

‘Tis the season to be stressed, from planning cocktails for that holiday party to buying last minute stocking stuffers…it’s easy to forget to pamper yourself. Why not take advantage of the holidays by adding a little bit of sparkle to your makeup routine? That’s why I decided to team up with photographer and MUA Deon & Alayza Casey again to create this “Holiday Glam” look. Be sure to check out their links at the bottom of the page and their blog Focused on Beauty.

Winter weather is the perfect time to start wearing more makeup and trying out those fun, bold makeup looks you’ve been dying to rock. So why not add some glitter to that smokey eye? Or highlight your cheekbones with gold powder? Or my personal favorite, swipe on some red lipstick!

photo-dec-22-11-09-37-pm

Alayza started off the look with a brown smokey eye and added some bronzy-gold glitter towards my inner eyelids that made them pop and shimmered purple in the light! It’s important to blend all the colors with a light to dark gradient effect (starting from the inner eye) before you pack glitter. Because you’re working with glitter, it’s easier to start with the eyes to clean up any residue before applying foundation. Tip: Use tape to pick up any leftover glitter on your face.

The classic red lip is always a timeless look, but why not try something a little different by opting for a wine color? It paired perfectly with the gold glitter from my eyes and instantly made me feel glamorous! I’m so excited to start trying out festive makeup looks this holiday season with Christmas just around the corner. Be sure to check out all the products used from this look below!

Nutcracker Ballet

Hi everyone!

I know it’s been awhile since I posted but the new year is here and I have all these new ideas! I’ve been meaning to blog about my  experience attending the Nutcracker Ballet but I’ve just been so busy so I’m glad that you can finally read all about my look!

This was my second time attending the ballet performance by the Texas Ballet Theater and they never disappoint. I’m so glad I got to attend with Dania this year too! The whole performance is absolutely breathtaking and beautiful and I love dressing up to make the night feel even more magical. The Nutcracker is such a classic, elegant story and I recommend dressing up since it’s not a regular performance to see! It’s a perfect little Christmas tradition as well! I love to dress up in gowns and feel special because there’s not many occasions after high school to wear long gowns so I take advantage of the moments when I can. Unfortunately, this year, I procrastinated on tickets and finding a gown but thank goodness for Windsor gowns! They have the PERFECT gowns for any occasion, even last minute shopping on a budget! I just clicked the “Under $50” tab to browse through their selections and put my dress on hold and even found earrings in store to match! My gown was only $46!!! I’m absolutely in love with it; it has such a sophisticated edge and perfect to use for other formal occasions in the future. I decided to play up my look by thinking BOLD. I had dark smokey eyes, darkened eyebrows, plum lipstick, and parted my hair in the middle. It was definitely a very dark and sultry look but I love how I felt elegant at the same time. I kept the jewelry to a minimum so I wore thin, gold bangles and a pair of gold diamond-shaped earrings. I hope you love the look! (*Also, the red gown my sister is wearing is also from Windsor! It was less than $50 as well!!)
