My Skin Routine ft. Saison Beauty

Hello all!

I’m so sorry I’ve been MIA lately! The month of December had me packed, but I’m excited to get back into blogging and creating new content for you all! Can you believe it’s already a month into this New Year? For my New Year’s Resolution, I’ve been making it my goal to make little improvements throughout different aspects of my life. For starters, I want to make healthy physical changes such as improving my sleep cycle and skin routine! Here’s how I have been improving my skin to look and feel better from the inside out.

Update your skin routine

One of the problems I struggle with the most is dry patches on my skin during the cold winter months. I cleanse and exfoliate, but recently I have learned that over exfoliating can lead to skin irritation so I recommended reducing exfoliation to only 2-3 times a week. With the addition of Saison Beauty Products to my regular skin routine, I’ve learned the importance of a good moisturizer and I am absolutely loving the results! They are a brand of Premium Seasonal Organic Skincare Products that are handcrafted and concentrated with high-quality seasonal organic plant extracts. After I clean my face, I apply the products and gently massage until it is absorbed. I love how it feels so light on my skin! Texas has bipolar weather changes so the seasons can be pretty harsh on my face. During these dry months, there’s less natural oils so my skin starts to get flaky in some areas, particularly my chin and nose, and ufortunately makeup can’t cover it up. What we use for our bodies is how we nourish it, our skin can absorb up to 60 percent of what is applied. That is why I use Saison products; they’re rich with antioxidants, potent herbs, and fragrant flowers. I recommend starting off with their 4-Step Skincare process which includes the following products:

  • Oil cleanser
  • Deep foaming cleanser
  • Hydrating serum
  • Moisturizer

Keep in mind that because their products are fresh and contain no preservatives, they should be used within a reasonable time period.

Know how your skin changes 

Saison means season in French, which is the inspiration for Saison’s premium skincare line. As the seasons change, so does our skin as it responds to the different environmental conditions throughout the year. It is important to update your routine to accommodate to your skin’s current state. One of the things I really love about Saison is that they offer products to accommodate for every season and skin type. I personally struggle with dry skin so the products I have used from their line is the Autumn Hydrating Serum and the Autumn Ultra Nourishing Moisturizer. The hydrating serum is made with organic rose and chamomile, which is great to tone out my skin since there’s unevenness in color. The moisturizer has hints of lavender (which I absolutely love!) and is made with omega and antioxidant-rich ingredients to nourish and revitalize my skin during cool months. I recommend browsing through the different products on their website based off of your skin type.

Other tips for happy, healthy skin

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! I used to drink a lot more water, I can honestly admit that I have been slacking. Recently, I have made it my goal to get back into this healthy habit. I know that drinking a lot of water can be “boring” sometimes so to make drinking water easier, here are a few tips:

  1. Drink water from prettier containers! For some reason, drinking from aesthetically pleasing containers gets me excited to drink more water. I even drink water through a wine glass sometimes! I recommend using nice cups and getting yourself a cute water bottle like this marble print one to carry around wherever you go.
  2. Add flavor to your water. I love chopping up fresh strawberries and orange slices to my water to make it taste better and look more colorful. You can also try squeezing lemon juice, adding mint leaves, blueberry, or even cucumbers!
  3. Sneak in sips of water throughout meals. Drinking water also helps me feel full faster so I usually aim to finish half my glass before I start eating and sip on the rest throughout my meal.
